Getting the code
Compilation

SVN

The source code can be retrieved via svn. To check out the actual release the svn cmd line is:

svn co https://qfootprints.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/qfootprints/tags/release-0.1 qfootprints

The actual development status is available in the trunk:

svn co https://qfootprints.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/qfootprints/trunk qfootprints

Gentoo

Gentoo users can also use the provided ebuild script to emerge QFootPrints through portage overlay: Assuming portage overlay is set up you just need to fetch the actual ebuild script from SourceForge and place it into "/usr/local/portage/sci-geosciences/qfootprints" and create the manifest

ebuild /usr/local/portage/sci-geosciences/qfootprints/qfootprints-0.1.ebuild manifest

Followed by

emerge -av qfootprints

will do the trick!
